ITE'S FIRST-TIME COLLABORATION WITH IBM ON COMMUNITY WORK
The ITE partnered IBM on community work for the first-time, signing an MoU on 1 December 2006. The MoU marked the partners’ commitment to the Community Outreach Programme through Technology. The ITE-IBM initiative is aimed at giving back to the community, developing Singapore’s future talents and leaders, and bringing about greater innovation. Key outreach projects include making computer literates out of the disadvantaged elderly with the use of an IBM developed tool, WAT (Web Adaptation Technology); KidSmart Programme for children; EX.I.T.E. Camp for teenage girls; and the Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on project aimed at promoting innovation. These projects are valued at US$560,000.

LEGENDARY SPORTSMAN CARL LEWIS GOT TO KNOW ITE
