GOLDEN GRADUATES
In FY 2006, nine in 10 full-time ITE graduates were employed within six months of job search. They commanded a gross median salary of $1,300 per month, which was as well as the performance of the graduates in the job market during FY 2005.
Among those employed, 78 per cent worked in jobs related to their ITE courses. From the biennial 2005 survey on employers of full-time ITE graduates, over 90 per cent were pleased with the technical, methodological and social competencies of the ITE graduates they hired.
In addition, 2,217 ITE graduates progressed to full-time (1,645) and part-time (572) diploma courses at the polytechnics, resulting in a progression rate of 22 per cent. This represented a 33 per cent increase in the number of ITE graduates who progressed to the polytechnics, as compared to 1,661 in AY 2005.
