FULL-TIME EDUCATION

golden results Thumbs-Up! ITE-conducted part-time programmes are well-received by participants.

ITE’s full-time enrolment peaked to a record of 24,3851 in FY 2007, compared to 23,87611 in FY 2006. Student Success Rate saw a significant improvement, from 79 per cent in FY 2006 to 83 per cent in FY 2007.

Responding to dynamic and rapid changes in industry, ITE introduced eight new courses in FY 2007. The new courses were designed to help plug skilled manpower demands in emerging and high-growth sectors. They include Higher Nitec courses in Hospitality Operations, Business Studies (Event Management) and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Design (with specialisation in Marine & Offshore Structure), as well as Nitec courses in Aerospace Avionics, Pastry & Baking, Hair Fashion & Design, Chemical Process Technology (Process Instrumentation) and Electrical Technology (Lighting & Sound).


1 Excluding ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) courses, which are offered under a separate training framework for early school leavers (ESLs) with less than 10 years of general education.
