In conjunction with the launch of the new Higher Nitec in Marine Offshore Engineering course, the ITE Board of Governors will be visiting Keppel FELS Limited. A press conference to announce the new course will also be held at the company's premises.

This is a ceremony on the signing of a contract between ITE and appointed PPP Consortium for the development of ITE College West.  The architectural concept and design for this college will also unveil.  The Guest-of-Honour is Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister of State for Education and Manpower.  The features will be articulated in a News Conference preceding the event which will be chaired by Mr Bruce Poh, CEO/ITE.

ITE has been selected as the one and only education institution in Southeast Asia to join the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance, a global network of ten exceptional hospitality services institutions sharing the same pedagogical philosophy. Institut Paul Bocuse is an internationally-renowned culinary and hospitality institution in Lyon, France, which produces some of the world's finest chefs in French cuisine.

Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, will be announcing the Open Source Collaborative Innovation (OSCI) Initiative in Singapore. There are four programmes for the Singapore OSCI Initiative. These include Red Hat’s participation in the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore’s (IDA’s) Infocomm Local Industry Upgrading Programme (iLIUP), the setting up of the Red Hat Open Source Solutions Centre at ITE College East, expansion of the Red Hat Academy in ASEAN, and initiating the Home of Open Source in Singapore, to be hosted by ITE College East.

ITE and Hewlett Packard (HP) will be launching the ITE-HP Infocomm Security Technology Centre on 15 April 08. The Centre is set up to support Info-Communication Technology (ICT) security competency building of ITE staff and students and to offer security technology services to Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in alignment with the iN2015 plan.

Through its unique brand of College Education, ITE develops different talents in students and paves the way for them to excel in academic studies, application projects and co-curricular activities. Students' talents and achievements are honoured through this annual event.

Includes the signing of an MOU which will offer new industrial attachment places in Vietnam for ITE students, to give them greater international exposure.

ITE will be hosting the GEN Planning Session for the first time, to set directions for GEN. GEN is a global collaboration of premier post-secondary education institutions providing students with an international learning experience for employment in a global economy. Currently, the members of the Network are: Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Australia; Kirkwood Community College, USA; Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Canada; and Institute of Technical Education, Singapore.

An annual ceremony which honours the most outstanding ITE graduates in each cohort, with the top students receiving the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, the Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal and the Sng Yew Chong Gold Medal.

The Annual Asia-Pacific Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) Conference is a free two-day event jointly organised by Medical Education Technologies, Inc (METI), ITE and Kestrel Technologies Pte Ltd, and aimed at sharing knowledge on the use of simulation to facilitate healthcare learning. The event will include invaluable plenary lectures, hands-on workshops and presentations, and the opportunity to network and share ideas with medical education simulation experts.

The biennial WorldSkills Singapore Competition kicks off with an Opening Ceremony at ITE College East.

Singaporean youths who excel in beauty and wellness services, or, who exemplify best practices in caring and nursing, now have another avenue to test their skills against those who are best-in-class. For the first time, Beauty Therapy and Caring have been included in the list of 17 competition areas in WorldSkills Singapore 2008, a biennial skills competition organised by ITE, with the support of the five Polytechnics. Held for the eighth time, the competition series aims to recognise the talents of young, skilful Singaporeans, and raise the standards of excellence in technical skills.
