ITE – 2005 Singapore Quality Award Winner

Winning the prestigious Singapore Quality Award (SQA) marks the successful culmination of ITE’s Organisational Excellence journey embarked on since 1995.

The SQA is the highest accolade, distinguishing ITE as the“best-of-the-best” in Singapore, and for being the First Education Institution to attain world-class business excellence.

Winning the SQA affirms the nation’s recognition of ITE as a “one-of-its-kind” technical education institution. Since its establishment in 1992 as a post-secondary technical education institution, ITE has transformed from small campuses to today’s mega-Colleges, adopting a total systems approach accelerated by two strategic roadmaps – the ITE 2000 Plan (1995-1999) and ITE Breakthrough (2000-2004). Guided by its latest five-year strategic roadmap, ITE Advantage (2005-2009), ITE will continue on its Organisational Excellence journey and strive to be A Global Leader in Technical Education.

Singapore Quality Award: Fact File

The SQA is the pinnacle award for business excellence in Singapore. Introduced in 1994 with the Prime Minister as the Patron, the Award is conferred upon the “best-of-the-best” organisations in recognition of their attainment of world-class standards in business excellence. What is more, the SQA is comparable to other global excellence awards like the US Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the European Quality Award and the Australian Business Excellence Award.

Winners like ITE have been assessed based on the Seven Criteria in the SQA Framework – Leadership, Planning, Information, People, Processes, Customers and Results. ITE is one of only 22 organisations and one of eight from the public sector to have won the SQA since the Award was introduced.
