IT is said that an organisation is only as good as its people. This is clearly a mantra that ITE subscribes to, given its recent re-certification as a People Developer (PD) organisation.
Certified as a People Developer in 2000, ITE applied for re-certification in 2007. The re-certification
guidelines were expanded to include human resource management practices, in addition to staff
training and development, which meant that more had to be done in preparation for the PD assessment.
The many months of planning, which included staff communication sessions, the revamping of ITE’s PD website and the dissemination of information to staff, paid off. The assessors were impressed with what they saw at ITE during the PD site assessment on 2 November 2007 and gave ITE a unanimous stamp of approval.
Mr Tan Wee Khiang, Divisional Director/Human Resource, ITE, attributed this achievement to the
collective support from staff: “This PD re-certification is an affirmation that we are on the right track in our journey towards People Excellence. This is made possible through the strong commitment and support of our staff at all levels to meet ITE’s Mission, Vision and Values. We will continue with our people development efforts to stay competitive and relevant in this highly-dynamic environment.”
