ITE has done itself proud at the 2008 PRISM Awards by winning the Excellence Award for
Overall Corporate Enhancement Programme (Singapore). This is a new category of award introduced in 2008. In 2000 and 2006, ITE won the Excellence Award for Best Public Service Campaign (Government).

The PRISM (Public Relations in the Service of Mankind) Awards is organised biennially by the Institute of Public Relations to recognise outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations and their contributions in public relations projects conducted for the benefit of the Singapore community.

With the PRISM Awards celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the awards ceremony was held with grandeur at the newly-opened St. Regis Hotel on 14 March 2008. His Excellency, President S R Nathan, was the Guest-of-Honour.

From Zero to Hero
That despite challenges faced, ITE had changed the mindset of the public and enhanced its public image through its corporate re-branding strategy impressed the panel of judges. With its 10-year Transformation Plan, which included innovative corporate communications strategies, ITE has been effective in repositioning and rebranding itself as a globally-reputable institute for technical education.

Ms Sabrina Loi, ITE’s Senior Divisional Director/Corporate Services, believes that the PRISM Award is testimony of the success of ITE and its unique “Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on” brand of education.

Said Ms Loi: “Winning this award not only shows the success of our long-term efforts in changing public attitudes, but also the value of an ITE education and our graduates. This award will inspire us to continue looking for new and creative ways to raise the profile of ITE and change social attitudes towards ITE and technical education.”
