It seems a pretty long time ago, but no one among 80-odd people in the MacPherson AVA Room on 3 Feb ever forgot – that College Central were the Champion team for the Inter-Establishment Games FY2004.
In his thank you address, P(CC) pointed out an interesting fact - while College Central might have actually won fewer of the games in the series, with more widespread participation (which also gained points) than the others, we eventually garnered more points. He drew two lessons from the results to share with everyone.
Number one, involvement is a powerful force. If only a few of our staff had stepped forward to be involved, we almost certainly would not have won! Number two, while not everyone who participated won their respective games, teamwork and collective effort finally resulted in a winning outcome that all can share in. While this was the IEG, the same principles must apply to our work in the College.
