Spirit of Togetherness Soars High

Rowing practice? No!
Just one of the moves in the warm-up aerobics

Are you sure, it won’t fall?

Hula Oops!

What’s up?

We can do it with hands on, minds on, hearts on

It can’t be this tricky, can it?
This is putting us into knots…

College Central staff had a whale of a time interacting among themselves during the activities at their inaugural Team Building Day.

Thanks to the afternoon rain, everyone huddled indoors instead, giving each staff even more opportunities to get (literally) closer to one another, and to renew the bonds of friendship and teamwork among the staff of the five campuses of the College.

The afternoon event was held at Yishun campus on 10 February. But if you thought the half-day event would just be about fun & games and getting to know each other, you would only be half right! It was also about staff sharing.

In the first hour, the AT section at Yishun gave “Tips on how to keep your car tyres in tip-top shape”. Sok Tiang from MacPherson shared her skills at making Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Selvam from Bedok was on hand to demonstrate how to install simple water saving gadgets that could help bring down your utility bills. And Chiang Nam from Yishun was guided techno-novices through the steps of removing unwanted files from their PCs safely and securely.

At 3 pm, College Principal Dr Ricky Tam warmed up the wet afternoon’s mood with a short welcoming speech. This was followed up immediately with a rousing display of aerobics that everyone took to with great gusto.

The warming up session gave the various groups, each with up to 20 members, the ignition to spring up into action in the teambuilding activities.

And spring, twist, jump and run they all did! Enjoying and, at the same time, racing to complete the seven teambuilding games to grab the top prizes, the participants displayed their skills and dexterity to the utmost.

The fun and frolic of the afternoon continued with a sumptuous early dinner.

As College HR Manager Koh Chung King put it: “The event was great but the spirit of camaraderie displayed was even greater.”

What’s an event without great food?

Wah! Second prize already so heavy.
First prize how?
