The Department of Mechatronics Engineering (MCE) at College West (Balestier or BR Campus) conducted the annual Rainbow Connection event on 21 Oct 2008 at the campus auditorium. The event was attended by the whole department. Also present on special invitation were three former MCE/BR students. One is in his final-year study at the National Technological University, another is a polytechnic diploma student and the third is studying the Higher Nitec course in Electronics. Students with good Grade Point Average (GPA) in the June 08 exam were acknowledged with the award of a trophy, a certificate and a momento.

The former MCE/BR students were given opportunity to share with current students all the possibilities opened to them if they maintained good and consistent results. Each of them related their personal account of achieving success. Students responded with queries on types of post ITE courses available and the entry requirements.

The Course Manager and Section Head both gave a short but encouraging speech to all the  students present. RAINBOW CONNECTION 2008@MCE/BR culminated with the award presentation ceremony. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the stars who had dedicated themselves to do their best. The event left students feeling invigorated and inspired to do well in the coming exams in Dec 08.
