The ITE College Central Management Team had its 2008 Strategic Review Workshop cum Teambuilding session on Friday 5 December 2008 at the ITE College East Campus, to set the strategic focus for the College in 2009. A very refreshing opening address by our Principal, Mr Tan Seng Hua, greeted the team in the morning, and set the mood for a relaxed and yet focused session.

The various presentation styles used by the Schools and Divisions were very creative and effective. One of the presentations was even creatively styled to bring the audience on a ‘Holiday Trip’ to effectively deliver the strategic work plan for the approaching year. We were serious in a fun way.

Our Principal, in his closing remarks, reminded the team that as we go through new challenges and maintain our relevance in this competitive environment, we must ensure that our staff understands the ‘Why’ and the ‘How’ of what they do. Clear communication is the key. Equally important, we must remember to take care of the well-being of our staff and ensure that they live a balanced work life.

In the afternoon of the Workshop, the team proceeded to the Teambuilding Session. The first teambuilding game was the ‘Amazing Race’. The teams had a good marathon session running between checkpoints looking for clues within the large College East Campus. The other two teambuilding games were held indoors, which challenged the teams on creativity and teamwork.

The day ended with participants having a BBQ dinner and team-bonding session at the Staff Clubhouse. We certainly had a Hands-on, Minds-on and Hearts-on learning experience on this important occasion of the year.

With strong team-bonding and synergy among the College Management Team members, the College is ready to forge forward to scale new heights.
