Enhanced Teaching with New Mechatronics Application Software
|
|
The ITE-Bosch Rexroth Technical Seminar was recently organised by the Mechatronics Section of ITE CC (Macpherson). The talk focused on one of Bosch Rexroth newest innovative application software, IndraWorks, which is suitable for controlling a wide variety of linear motion control systems. Bosch Rexroth is one of the leading organizations renowned for its technological innovations and developments in the areas on "Motor Drives and Controls". The seminar, held on 7 Nov 08, was presented by Messers Peter Peh and Teo Cheng Huat from Bosch Rexroth (S) Pte Ltd. The technical lecture was

What’s new in the market? IndraWorks provide a flexible and visual platform for controlling a wide variety of linear motion control systems. The software allows programs to be run on the simulation mode, and debugging for any possible faults before downloading it to various automation systems, using the usual industry standard interfaces.

Applications The task-operated software is capable of providing a framework for standardizing and integrating engineering functions such as for Pick & Place, palletizing, testing, mounting, loading, unloading, etc.

Mr Sim Hock Lee, Mechatronics Engineer (MCE) at ITE College Central (Macpherson Campus) commented that the visually appealing and animated features of the software would enhance the teaching of manufacturing process control system. Sharing this view, Mr Kee Kok Meng, MCE Senior Lecturer at ITE College West (Balestier Campus), mentioned that besides being suitable for use in demonstration purposes, the simulation feature of the software would provide real-life work scenarios to be introduced into the classroom lessons. The seminar was a resounding success. Mr Peter Peh was pleased with the enthusiasm of the participants and noted that the seminar was very well organised. |
