The Excellent Service Award (EXSA), launched in 1994, is a national award that recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service in both the public and private sectors. It seeks to develop service models within the organizations for staff to emulate, create service champions and professionalise customer services. Managed by SPRING Singapore and 10 industry lead associations, the EXSA is conferred at four award levels: Silver, Gold, Star and SuperStar.  The 5 attributes which form the EXSA award criteria are customer compliments received, recognition, service performance, service skill upgrading and length of service within the organisation.

All nominated staff who fulfilled the requirement for each award category attended a compulsory seven-hour Development Training Workshop in Service Skills. As part of the award selection process, they were presented with the EXSA award upon completion of this workshop. The nominated College West (CW) staff attended the workshops on 4 Aug 08 (Gold Award), 30 Jul 08 and 20 Aug 08 (Silver Award) respectively. This workshop aims to reinforce and sustain a consistent level of service of the staffs after receiving the awards.

Having successfully completed the EXSA Development Training Workshops at Civil Service College, the following College West staff were awarded with the Excellent Service Award by SPRING at the Excellent Service Award Presentation Ceremony 2008 held on 3 Dec 08 at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Tan Chin Tuan Auditorium:
