Progression
Opportunities For ITE Graduates
ITE training has become a very practical and viable
alternative route to tertiary education. At every
course level, ITE has created opportunities for graduates
to progress to higher level training both internally
and externally.
Students from the National ITE Certificate (Nitec)
courses can progress to higher level full-time courses
in ITE. Nitec Business & Services graduates with GPA of at least 2.8 may apply
for progression to the first year of a Higher Nitec Business
course. Nitec (in technical areas) graduates with
a GPA of at least 2.3 may apply for progression to
a Higher Nitec Engineering/ICT course. Those with GPA of at least 3.5 may be shortlisted for direct admission to the second year of a related Higher Nitec Engineering/ICT course. Alternatively,
Nitec Technical/NTC-2 graduates can take
up a related Master National ITE Certificate (Master
Nitec) course after working for three years in
a relevant trade.
Nitec (in technical areas) graduates with GPA of at least
3.5 may apply for admission to a related Diploma course
at ITE and the polytechnics.
Higher Nitec graduates with good results may apply for admission to
the first year of a related Diploma course at ITE and the
polytechnics. Those with GPA of 3.5 and above, may
apply for direct admission to the 2nd year of a
relevant Diploma in Engineering course.
