How many choices

Applicants can select up to 10 choices of courses
and campuses.
Each choice comprises a course and campus, eg Nitec in Service Skills (Office) at ITE College Central (Bishan Campus) and Nitec in Service Skills (Office) at ITE College East are taken as 2 choices.
What is the duration
of full-time Nitec courses?
The courses are of 2-year duration with the exception
of Nitec in Service Skills (1-year duration)
and Nitec in Beauty Therapy (1 year 3 months
duration).
What is the age limit
for full-time Nitec courses?
There is generally no age limit for our full-time
courses if the applicants meet the entry requirements.
If I failed the interview or drawing tests for courses which require screening tests during the main application period phase, can I still apply for the same course during the appeal phase?
You are advised to consider other courses during the appeal phase as you have been assessed as not suitable for the course at the interview / drawing test.
Is there any sponsorship
available for the Nitec in Nursing course
conducted at ITE?
The restructured and private hospitals offer sponsorship
to students taking the Nitec in Nursing
course. Applicants who are admitted into the nursing
course can enquire about the sponsorship application
at the exhibitions/fairs organized by the healthcare
institutions held at the ITE College East, during
their course of study.
What is the starting
salary for Nitec graduates?
From our graduate surveys, the starting salary for
fresh Nitec graduates is in the region
of $1,100 to $1,650. Starting salary may vary depending

Special Admission Exercise is an intake exercise where applicants submit their application directly to the campus offering the course. For Apr 08 intake, Nitec in Beauty Therapy offered at ITE College East is conducted under the Special Admission Exercise.
How to apply under the Special Admission Exercise?
Interested applicants may download the application form at ITE website http://www.ite.edu.sg/admission/ft/apply.htm or obtain hardcopy application form from the campus offering the course and submit it directly to the campus within the application period on the day following the official announcement of the 2007 GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results to Mon 28 Jan 08.
What are the special attributes needed for application for courses under the Special Admission Exercise?
Applicants for Nitec in Beauty Therapy course will need to possess a strong interest in beauty and wellness industry as well as affinity towards customer service. Consideration will be given to applicants with good skin complexion and personal hygiene.
Shortlisted applicants for Nitec in Beauty Therapy course will be invited to attend an interview before the final selection.

Which full-time Nitec courses can I apply for progression to?
If you are an ISC in Electrical Servicing graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Electrical Technology, Facility Technology and Mechatronics courses. Applicants for these courses must be free from colour blindness.
If you are an ISC in Mechanical Servicing graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Automotive Technology, Facility Technology and Mechanical Technology courses. Applicants for Building Services Technology must be free from colour blindness.
If you are an ISC in Food Preparation & Services graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Culinary Skills (Western) and Food Beverage & Operations courses. Shortlisted applicants must attend an interview and pass a prescribed medical examination.

Applicants can apply via Internet at www.ite.edu.sg during the application period following the release of the 2007 GCE 'O' levels examination result. They may then submit their application for transfer at the posted campus via Internet or between Mon 14 Jan 08 and Wed 23 Jan 08.

What are the progression opportunities of Nitec graduates?
Nitec Technical graduates with a GPA of at least 2.3 may apply for progression to a Higher Nitec Engineering / ICT course. Nitec in Service Skills graduates with GPA of at least 2.8 are eligible to apply for progression to a Higher Nitec Business course. Nitec Technical graduates with GPA 3.5 may apply for admission to a related diploma course at the polytechnics.

When will I know my application results?
If you apply through the MOE JAE website www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/jae between Thu 24 Jan 08 (from 3pm) and Mon 28 Jan 08 (4pm), the result of your application will be released about three weeks after the JAE application period through the following modes:
- Login to MOE JAE website www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/jaewith NRIC/FIN;
- Call MOE JAE IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) at 6691-2131;
- Form D will be sent to all applicants via postal service by MOE;

Applicants who are posted to a Higher Nitec course in ITE will receive a Posting Letter via post by Thu 21 Feb 08. Posted Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to login to website http://estudent.ite.edu.sg with their NRIC and password provided in the Posting Letter to accept the offer between Thu 21 Feb 08 (from 9am) and Tue 26 Feb 08. Otherwise, your training place will be cancelled and offered to other applicant. The training duration of Higher Nitec courses for N(A) students is 2¼ years. Students will first need to undergo 10 weeks preparatory course, before they start their 2 years' Higher Nitec training under the April 2008 term.
What will be covered during the 10 weeks preparatory course?
The preparatory training will comprise relevant topics focusing on mathematical concepts and scientific principles required for the Higher Nitec curriculum. Oral and written communication skills will be emphasised in the preparatory course to strengthen students’ literary skills. In addition, students will also cover generic skills on topics such as Professional Ethics, Integrity, Service Excellence and Learning to Learn skills which are deemed essential in the workplace today. Students will also have Sports and Wellness lessons.

- Fees are subject to revision.
- Registration Fee is a one-time payment.
- Students are required to pay their term fees for all terms by the stipulated dates in order to remain in their course of study. For the subsequent terms, arrangements will be made for students to pay their fees through GIRO. The campus will advise the students on the procedures for GIRO payment when term commences.
- One term is 6 months.
When will be the fees payment and what are the payment modes?
Students who are a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore may pay their fees for the 10 weeks preparatory course through one of the following modes:

- You may pay via these modes the next working day from 10.30am after you have accepted the course offer.
- Your Financial Account will be updated the next working day after payment has been made by you.
- For cash payment at Singapore Post Office, you will need to inform the counter staff your NRIC/FIN number.
- You are required to retain the SAM/Singapore Post Office payment receipt and bring it along when you report to your posted campus for registration between Thu 3 Jan 08 and Fri 4 Jan 08.

- You may pay on the next working day after you have accepted the course offer.
- You will need a SingPass and a Direct Debit Authorisation (DDA) bank account to authorize the payment transaction online.
- Your Financial Account will be updated 5 working days after payment has been made by you.
- You are required to print the FlexiPay receipt and bring it along when you report to your posted campus for registration between Thu 3 Jan 08 and Fri 4 Jan 08.

If you do not pay your fees by Fri 4 Jan 08, you are deemed to have withdrawn from the course which you have accepted. Your training place will be cancelled.
Successful international applicants may also pay their ITE first term fees via the above payment modes upon obtaining the Posting Letter from ITE Headquarters Customer Service Centre. If you do not pay your fees within 1 week upon receipt of Posting Letter, your training place will be cancelled.
Is there any refund of fees if I decide to withdraw from the course?
Refund of fees is not an automatic process. Applicants must apply for refund before ITE will process the request. Fees may be refundable as follows:

What are the progression opportunities of Higher Nitec graduates?
Higher Nitec graduates with good results may apply for admission to a related Diploma course at the Polytechnics. Those with Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for direct admission to the second year of a relevant Diploma course.
