Which full-time Nitec courses can I apply for progression to?
If you are an ISC in Electrical Servicing graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Electrical Technology, Facility Technology and Mechatronics courses. Applicants for these courses must be free from colour blindness.

If you are an ISC in Mechanical Servicing graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Automotive Technology, Facility Technology and Mechanical Technology courses. Applicants for Building Services Technology must be free from colour blindness.

If you are an ISC in Food Preparation & Services graduate with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (inclusive of CCA bonus), you can apply for progression to the full-time Nitec in Culinary Skills (Western) and Food Beverage & Operations courses. Shortlisted applicants must attend an interview and pass a prescribed medical examination.

How can I apply and what are the application procedures?
Applicants can apply via Internet at www.ite.edu.sg during the application period following the release of the 2007 GCE 'O' levels examination result. To access the application website, go to ITE homepage ( www.ite.edu.sg) and click on the hotspot ‘Application for Full-Time Nitec Courses for April 2008 Intake’ followed by ‘Apply Online Now’, ‘Apply for ITE Courses’, ‘ITE Progression’ and ‘to Nitec Courses’. At the application website, enter your NRIC/FIN and Birthdate to start your application.

Applicants who missed the application period can still apply via Internet between Tue 26 Feb 08 and Tue 25 Mar 08or between Mon 31 Mar 08 and Thu 24 Apr 08.

Internet access is available at ITE Customer Service Centres and ITE participating campuses during the application phase during office hours (8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday and 8.30 am to 12 noon on Sat 22 Dec 07).

Successful applicants are required to accept the offer during this period. Unsuccessful applicants can re-apply for a relevant course with vacancies via Internet between Wed 9 Jan 08 and Tue 15 Jan 08 or between Thu 17 Jan 08 and Wed 23 Jan 08. When can I apply for transfer of course/campus after I have known my application results?
Posted applicants who wish to apply for transfer of course/campus should accept the offer first via the Internet at website: http://estudent.ite.edu.sg from Wed 9 Jan 08 to Fri 11 Jan 08. They may then submit their application for transfer at the posted campus via Internet or between Mon 14 Jan 08 and Wed 23 Jan 08.

For appellants who are successful in their transfer, their place in the original course/campus will be offered to those who are eligible and have appealed for the course. For appellants who have accepted the posted course but are not successful in their transfer, they will remain in the course and campus which they have accepted.

What is the duration of the Nitec courses for ISC progression?
The courses are of 2-year duration.

What is the age limit for full-time Nitec courses?
There is generally no age limit for our full-time courses if the applicants meet the entry requirements.

What is the starting salary for Nitec graduates?
From our graduate surveys, the starting salary for fresh Nitec graduates is in the region of $1,100 to $1,650. Starting salary may vary depending on the course. How much are the fees for full-time training?
The training fees for full-time Nitec courses for ISC progression students are:

2) One term is 6 months.
3) Registration Fee is a one-time payment.
4) Students are required to pay their term fees for all terms by the stipulated dates in order to remain in their course of study. For the subsequent terms, arrangements will be made for students to pay their fees through GIRO. The campus will advise the students on the procedures for GIRO payment when term commences.

When will be the fees payment?

What are the progression opportunities of Nitec graduates?
Nitec Technical graduates with a GPA of at least 2.3 may apply for progression to a Higher Nitec Engineering / ICT course. Nitec in Service Skills graduates with GPA of at least 2.8 are eligible to apply for progression to a Higher Nitec Business course. Nitec Technical graduates with GPA 3.5 may apply for admission to a related diploma course at the polytechnics.

How many choices can I submit for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses?
Applicants can select up to 10 choices of courses and campuses. Each choice will comprise a course and campus, e.g Higher Nitec in Electronics Engineering at ITE College East and Higher Nitec in Electronics Engineering at ITE College Central (Tampines Campus) are taken as 2 choices.

Can I submit separate applications for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses and Nitec courses under the Joint Intake Exercises?
Applicant can submit separate applications for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses and Nitec courses under the Joint Intake Exercises. However, once an applicant is successful for a Higher Nitec course, he will not be offered a Nitec course.

When will I know my application results?
Application results will be released from Thu 27 Dec 07 to Wed 2 Jan 08. Posted Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to login to website http://estudent.ite.edu.sg with their NRIC and password to accept the offer between Thu 27 Dec 07 and Wed 2 Jan 08. If you do not accept the offer during this period, your training place will be cancelled and offered to other applicant. Posted international applicants are required to report to the ITE Headquarters Customer Service Centre on the date and time stated in the Posting Letter for referral to Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for application of a Student’s Pass to study in ITE. If you do not report to ITE Headquarters Customer Service Centre by the stipulated period in the Posting Letter, your training place will be cancelled and offered to other applicant.

If I missed the first application period, can I still apply for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses?
If you have missed the first application period, you can still apply during the appeal phase between Thu 27 Dec 07 and Wed 2 Jan 08. To access the application website, go to ITE homepage (www.ite.edu.sg) and click on the hotspot ‘Application for Direct Entry to Full-Time Higher Nitec Courses for January 2008 Intake’ followed by ‘Apply Online Now’, ‘Apply for ITE Courses’, ‘ITE Education Courses’ and ‘January Intake Higher Nitec Courses (JIE’H’)’. At the application website, enter your NRIC/FIN and Birthdate to start your application. When can I appeal for transfer of course/campus after I have known my application results?
Posted applicants who wish to apply for transfer of course/campus should accept the offer first via the Internet at website: http://estudent.ite.edu.sg between Thu 27 Dec 07 and Wed 2 Jan 08. You may then submit your application for transfer via Internet at website: www.ite.edu.sg between Thu 27 Dec 07 and Wed 2 Jan 08. For appellants who are successful in their transfer, their place in the original course/campus will be offered to those who are eligible and have appealed for the course. For appellants who have accepted the posted course but are not successful in their transfer, they will remain in the course and campus which they have accepted.

What is the training duration of the Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses offered to N(A) students?
The training duration of Higher Nitec courses for N(A) students is 2¼ years. Students will first need to undergo 10 weeks preparatory course, before they start their 2 years' Higher Nitec training under the April 2008 term.

What will be covered during the 10 weeks preparatory course?
The preparatory training will comprise relevant topics focusing on mathematical concepts and scientific principles required for the Higher Nitec curriculum. Oral and written communication skills will be emphasised in the preparatory course to strengthen students’ literary skills. In addition, students will also cover generic skills on topics such as Professional Ethics, Integrity, Service Excellence and Learning to Learn skills which are deemed essential in the workplace today. Students will also have Sports and Wellness lessons.

What is the age limit for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses?
There is generally no age limit for our full-time courses if applicants meet the entry requirements.

What is the starting salary for Higher Nitec graduates?
From our graduate surveys, the starting salary for fresh Higher Nitec graduates is in the region of $1,200 to $1,600. Starting salary may vary depending on the course. How much are the fees for Direct Entry to Higher Nitec courses?
Students are required to pay fees for the 10 weeks preparatory course by 4 Jan 08 as given below:

1. Fees are subject to revision.
2. Registration Fee is a one-time payment.
3. Students are required to pay their term fees for all terms by the stipulated dates in order to remain in their course of study. For the subsequent terms, arrangements will be made for students to pay their fees through GIRO. The campus will advise the students on the procedures for GIRO payment when term commences.
4. One term is 6 months.

When will be the fees payment and what are the payment modes?
Students who are a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore may pay their fees for the 10 weeks preparatory course through one of the following modes:

If you do not pay your fees by Fri 4 Jan 08, you are deemed to have withdrawn from the course which you have accepted. Your training place will be cancelled.

Successful international applicants may also pay their ITE first term fees via the above payment modes upon obtaining the Posting Letter from ITE Headquarters Customer Service Centre. If you do not pay your fees within 1 week upon receipt of Posting Letter, your training place will be cancelled.

Is there any refund of fees if I decide to withdraw from the course?

What are the progression opportunities of Higher Nitec graduates?
Higher Nitec graduates with good results may apply for admission to a related Diploma course at the Polytechnics. Those with Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for direct admission to the second year of a relevant Diploma course.
