What is the training system?
ITE’s full-time courses are conducted on a Semester-Based Credit System of Training (SCT). This system of training offers flexibility, choice and diversity in learning. In SCT, a course of study is structured into a series of modules and credits are assigned to each module. Assessment of module is on a term basis, and once students have passed the module assessment, the achievement is credited to them. When students have accumulated the required number of credits in modules relevant to the course of study within the defined period, they are deemed to have met the requirements of the course for graduation and will be awarded the full certificate. .

How are the students assessed on their performance in the course?
The course is made up of a series of modules. The number of modules that students can take within a term will depend on the course and ability of the student. Assessment for each module will be based on:

Assessment
Details
In-module assessment

Comprises class tests, written assignments, laboratory/ practical work, project work and/or phase tests. The number of assignments, laboratory/practical work or project work varies from module to module and may be completed individually or in groups.

End-of-module examinations

Summative testing of competencies covered in the module to assess how well a student can integrate the various competencies and knowledge acquired in the module.

Is there a requirement of minimum attendance before students are allowed to sit for end-of-module examinations?
To be eligible for end-of-module examinations, students must achieve sufficient attendance as decided by the College.

What is the grading system for modules?
When students passed a module, they will earn credits that are proportional to the amount of learning effort they have put in. The Grade Point Average (GPA) represents a student’s current standing in the course of study. It is the ratio of the total grade points earned to total credits attempted to date. The final GPA score at the point of graduation determines the overall course performance. The following table shows how performance in each module is graded:
