Traineeship Scheme

Traineeship is a formal training arrangement involving three parties: the trainee, the employer and ITE. Over 30 courses from 18 trade clusters are offered under ITE’s traineeship system.

The role of the trainee is to pursue and complete the course within the given duration to the satisfaction of the sponsoring company.

The sponsoring company agrees to train and instruct the trainee and assign a qualified trainer who would supervise and monitor the trainee's progress throughout the course.

Traineeship gives the applicant several advantages:

Gain a head start in career

Learn from qualified and experienced trainer

Receive the same National Certificate as full-time graduates

Obtain an additional Traineeship Certificate

Enjoy similar benefits as other employees in the company

Acquire life skills through on-the-job training

Have the same opportunities as full-time graduates to upgrade skills through further education.

Training

Under the off-the-job training component, trainees are taught the technical knowledge and techniques while in the on-the-job training component, trainees apply the knowledge and skills learnt in the off-the-job component.
