NITEC IN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Course Objective

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to service, repair and maintain vehicles. This course also provides training in one of the two specialisations - Heavy Vehicles and Light Vehicles.

Heavy Vehicles
This specialisation provides students with the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain medium and heavy commercial vehicles.

Light Vehicles
This specialisation provides students with the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain light vehicles such as passenger cars, vans, sport utility vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles.

Entry Requirements
  • Completed GCE 'N'; or
  • Passed ISC in Mechanical Servicing; or
  • Passed BEST Module 4 in Mathematics with work experience; or
  • Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) Employability Skills System (ESS) level with L5 in Literacy (Reading), L5 in Literacy (Listening) and L5 in Numeracy; or
  • Accumulated at least 60 hours of Certified On-the-Job Training (OJT) relevant to the course applied.
  • Note:
    Depending on the demand, not all the modules in the part-time Nitec courses will be offered in each intake. Where the modules are offered and there is insufficient enrolment, the classes will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to the affected students.

 
Training Schedule

Evening classes – Lessons are held two evenings a week, from 1845 hours to 2145 hours.

Weekend classes – Lessons are held once a week, from 0900 hours to 1600 hours.
