NITEC IN BUILDING DRAFTING
Course Objective

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to prepare working and detailed drawings using CAD/manual drafting. This course also provides training in one of the two specialisations - Architectural and Civil & Structural.

Architectural
This specialisation provides students with the skills and knowledge to prepare working drawings, minor addition and alteration works, presentation and detailed drawings of residential buildings according to architect’s sketches and complying with the relevant Codes of Practices.

Civil & Structural
This specialisation provides students with the skills and knowledge to prepare reinforced drawings, steel structural drawings and civil engineering drawings according to a designer’s sketches and specifications and complying with the architectural drawings provided and relevant Codes of Practices.

Entry Requirements
  • 3 GCE 'N' level passes including Mathematics; or
  • Any 2 GCE 'O' level subjects (Grade 1-8); or
  • Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) Employability Skills System (ESS) level with L5 in Literacy (Reading) and L5 in Literacy (Listening) and L6 in Numeracy.
  • Applicant should be free from colour blindness.

Note:
Depending on demand, not all the modules in the part-time Nitec courses will be offered in each intake. Where the modules are offered and there is insufficient enrolment, the classes will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to the affected students.

 
Training Schedule

Evening classes – Lessons are held two evenings a week, from 1845 hours to 2145 hours.

Weekend classes – Lessons are held once a week, from 0900 hours to 1600 hours.
