Top-Up Certification Scheme allows ITE graduates to be awarded another certification by topping up with the additional specialisation modules. The provision of Top-Up Certification Scheme encourages ITE graduates to be multi-skilled and more versatile at the workplace.

For example, an ITE graduate who has a Nitec in Electronics (Computer Technology) and wishes to acquire skills and knowledge in Wafer Fabrication, may top up with 2 additional modules in Wafer Fabrication to earn his second Nitec in Electronics (Wafer Fabrication). An illustration of the example is shown in Figure 1.
