The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system
offers a systematic path for individuals to equip themselves with relevant
competencies or upgrade their skills so that they can enhance their employability
and stay relevant.
The WSQ builds on industry-designed competency standards
developed in the National Skills Recognition System (NSRS). The NSRS has
been integrated into the WSQ. Hence WSQ is more comprehensive. It comprises
a full
competency map covering all occupations in an industry section (for example
retail) with clear certification points, career development and training
pathways and nationally recognised qualifications. The WSQ industry skills
framework
comprises a generic platform of employability skills and "know-how" to
work and progress in the industry, and specific occupation skills aligned to
individual jobs or job families.
Please see Quicklinks for the WSQ courses offered
by ITE.
