The delivery of Life Skills module uses the Project-based Learning Approach(PBL). This approach encourages student ownership where students are allowed to select or initiate project(s) and meaningful connections are made during the learning process. Learning will often be multi-disciplinary, challenging and often requires higher-order thinking skills such as analyzing and evaluating information. PBL rides on real life environment. and collaboration with external parties and organizations.
The competencies to be developed are: Communication Skills, Personal and Interpersonal Skills, Thinking and Problem-Solving, Career Development and Planning, Customer Service and Service Excellence
The Life Skills Curriculum comprises 2 Modules – Life Skills for Personal Development and Life Skills at the Workplace. The students are assessed through the different roles they undertake. As the learning outcomes specify a range of intangible soft skills and attributes, students are assessed through personal observations, journal reflections, peer assessment, project management, quality/standard of tasks performed, as well as attendance and participation in the various activities. Assessment is a combination of process-based and values-focused marking.
