History

Bukit Batok Campus originated from the old ITE Jurong (previously Jurong Vocational Institute) and ITE Pasir Panjang (previously Pasir Panjang Vocational Institute). The training conducted by the vocational institutes (in such areas as Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Marine Fitting etc) were popular with school leavers and adult learners, especially those residing and working in the Jurong area.

The Bukit Batok Campus was established to serve a larger cohort of school leavers and part-time adult learners and to provide them with the latest facilities for their technical education and skills upgrading.

Bukit Batok Campus entered the history books as the first ITE Technical Institute to begin operating in the new millennium. The newest campus within ITE College West, the Bukit Batok Campus opened its doors to students on 3 January 2000. It was officially opened by RADM (NS) Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence on 28 June 2000.
