Understand a business through numbers.

To cater to industry demand, the new 3-year curriculum structure comprises the specialised and deepened skills sets built upon broad-based foundation skills in the accounting sector. You will learn to prepare final accounts and cost accounts for various entities. You will be equipped with the skills to perform various accounting tasks to support the accounting department for work in the commercial, industrial or public sectors. You will also learn to use accounting software and apply accounting concepts to different business scenarios. Applicants for the course should preferably have a keen sense for numbers and accuracy and organisational skills.

  • Maintain inventory records
  • Maintain Property, Plant & Equipment (PPE) / Capital Expenditure (CE) register
  • Prepare financial accounting reporting activities
  • Prepare corporate accounting reporting activities
  • Prepare cost statement

Entry Requirements

Admission to Year 1 of the 3-year curriculum structure:

GCE 'O' level grades in any 2 subjects:

  • Grade 1-8

or

GCE ‘N’ level passes in English Language and 2 other subjects:

  • Grade A-D or Grade 1-5

Higher Nitec in Accounting graduates are employed by government agencies, statutory boards and private sector companies. Some job titles held are Accounts Assistant, Accounts Associate and Finance Assistant. Graduates can advance in their careers (e.g. Accounts Executive, Senior Accounts Executive) once relevant experience and higher-level accounting skills are acquired.
