to have at least Three GCE 'O' Level
Grades:

For ITE graduates, you must have obtained at
least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.8 for
your Nitec in Service Skills, Nitec in Info-Communications Technology, Nitec in Multimedia Technology or Nitec in
Digital Media Design qualifications.

CORE MODULES
- Business Communication (7 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to communicate effectively and handle both oral and written communications required in a business/work environment.
- Office Applications (5 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to produce office documents, process and organise data, create simple personal and business homepage and create presentations using commonly used software packages as well as send, retrieve and search for information using internet and electronic mail.
- Business Fundamentals (6 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to give an overview of the general business and the importance of international business. Students are also trained to explain the use of statistics in business and to interpret common statistical information. Students are also trained on customer service strategies, standards and recovery.
- e-Business Applications (6 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to create and manage web based e-business applications. This would involve creating web pages; incorporate images, links, tables, forms and other multimedia elements into HTML documents. This also includes the creation of dynamic and interactive web pages using basic scripting language and incorporating Java applets. The training also covers issues relating to ethics and intellectual property protection.
- Customer Relationship Management (7 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to cultivate good customer service quality, customer contact and rapport, manage their needs and expectations, obtain feedback and handle service breakdown and recovery.
- Principles of Marketing (6 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to apply the basic concepts of marketing involving the use of the four elements of a marketing mix, namely; product, price, place and promotion as a tool for developing a marketing plan.
- Computer Systems (7 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to install hardware and software components of a computer system and its related peripherals and be able to provide basic computer troubleshooting, maintenance and support.
- Project (8 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to prepare project requirements, project schedule, identify and secure required resources, implement project, prepare project report and present the completed project.

Life skills in broad terms are the foundation skills and personal qualities
that an individual can transfer from one job setting to another to manage

Students who are attached to an organisation are trained to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the programme to develop and prepare a real-life business proposal or plan for the organisation.
- Overseas Experiential Programme (1 to 3 credits)
On completion of the module, students should be able to develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, independence, cross-cultural interaction skills and other life skills. |
