Nitec in Aerospace Machining Technology

 

Do you know that an aeroplane is made up of many components that must be made to precise dimensions?

Small mistakes make the difference between a plane flying or not even taking off. Join this course now and you will learn to manufacture aerospace components, operate and monitor precision machine operations, as well as perform quality checks.

  • Create 5-axis CNC part-programs using CAD/CAM system.
  • Set up 5-axis CNC machining centres.
  • Operate and monitor precision machining operations.
  • Manufacture aerospace components such as landing gears, engine casings and aero structures.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Aerospace Machining Technology course, you need to have:

Subject
Grade
GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects
1-8
or
 
GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics or Science and 2 other subjects
A - D or 1 - 5

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Aerospace Machining Technology graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Nitec in Aerospace Machining Technology graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

 

Career Prospects

Nitec in Aerospace Machining Technology graduates are employed as manufacturing specialist by high value manufacturing industries in particular the Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Precision Modules and Components, Medical Technology, Transport Engineering and, Machinery and Systems sectors.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
