Nitec in Digital Animation



What makes Wii and animated movies unique? How do you apply character design? If you have a strong interest in animation, this is the course for you.

You will learn to perform animation tasks such as modelling, lighting, rigging and texturing. You will also learn to perform post-production tasks like editing, compositing, visual effects and rendering .

Acquire knowledge and skills gained which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Support team in research and planning.

  • Apply environment setting such as background and props.
  • Create storyboards.
  • Perform animation tasks, such as modelling, lighting, rigging and texturing.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Digital Animation course, you need to have:

Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they do not suffer from colour-appreciation deficiency and shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview and pass a drawing test for admission.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Digital Animation graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Nitec in Digital Animation graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

Career Prospects

Nitec in Digital Animation graduates are employed by companies in the digital media industries as assistants to CG Artist/Animation, 3D Modeller, 3D Animator, Special Effects Artist, Storyboard Artist, Character Designer, Character Animator, Effect Technical Director, Lighting Technical Director, Modeller and Texture Painter.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge through higher-level courses.
