| If this statement describes you, you should join the Nitec in Community Care & Social Services course and you will learn to plan and implement community-based activities/events, and organise and facilitate meaningful activities for clients/residents and their families. You will also learn to provide assistance in the rehabilitation, care and counselling of clients.

Nitec in Community Care & Social Services graduates with good results may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.
Nitec in Community Care & Social Services graduates with a GPA of 2.8 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.
Nitec in Community Care & Social Services graduates are employed in Day Care Centres, Senior Activity Centres, Neighbourhood Links Welfare Homes, Nursing Homes, Community Hospitals, Community Rehabilitation Centres and Integrated Rehabilitation Centres. Job titles held by Nitec in Community Care & Social Services graduates include Social Service Assistant, Assistant Programme Coordinator, Programme Assistant, Assistant Welfare Officer, and Activities Officer.
There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
To obtain the Nitec in Community Care & Social Services certification, you need to accumulate at least 68 credits.
