Nitec in Electronics (Computer & Networking)



As more of our everyday communications happen through computers and networks, the person in every organisation, who makes these systems work becomes a star.

Apply for this course and be a skilled specialist in installing, testing and servicing computer equipment which include microcomputer system, computer peripheral equipment and microcomputer-based equipment.

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Check the condition and characteristics of basic electronic components.
  • Construct electronic projects to given specifications.     
  • Test, service and repair common electronic equipment and the control system of machinery.
  • Maintain, test and repair simple digital equipment, microprocessor-based equipment, microcomputers and microcomputer peripherals .
  • Write programs and interface electronic devices to a microprocessor.
  • Set up microcomputer and interface with the peripheral devices.
  • Set up and install networking equipment.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Electronics (Computer & Networking) course, you need to have:

Subject
Grade
GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects
1 - 8
or
 
GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics or Science and 2 other subjects
A - D or 1 - 5


Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they do not have colour-appreciation deficiency.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Electronics (Computer & Networking) graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Nitec in Electronics (Computer & Networking) graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.
