Nitec in Visual Effects

Well then, take up the Nitec in Visual Effects course now!


We will teach you how to create computer graphics elements and combine them with live-action to create a photo-realistic final sequence in a post-production environment. You will also learn video editing, 3D modelling and lighting, rotoscoping, matchmoving and compositing.

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Set up of production shoots.
  • Perform non-linear editing for visual effects.     
  • Develop 3D assets .
  • Perform 3D lighting and 3D effects animation.
  • Create mattes/plates.
  • Perform rotoscoping and video compositing.

Gain valuable first-hand experience

  • Opportunity for real-work exposure through a 6-month industry attachment

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Visual Effects course, you need to have:

Subject
Grade
GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects
1 - 8
or
 
GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics and 2 other subjects
A - D or 1 - 5


Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they do not have colour-appreciation deficiency and must attend an interview and pass a drawing test for admission.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Visual Effects graduates with good results may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.

Nitec in Visual Effects graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

 

Career Prospects

Nitec in Visual Effects graduates are employed by companies in the post-production, broadcasting, film, games, design and media sectors.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
