After the 10-week preparatory course, can I rejoin Sec 5N if I think that it is more suitable for me?
Yes, you may approach your school to rejoin at Sec 5N level.
Is there any difference between entering the polytechnics via the direct entry option and the 5N route?
The criteria for entering polytechnics through both options are the same. Students will have to consider which option is more suitable for their learning abilities.
Since the Sec 5N examinations are more complex, students have to be realistic and assess whether they will be able to cope at Sec 5N. Moreover, students may stand a higher chance of joining the polytechnics and excelling in their course area due to the strong foundation gained at ITE.
If my ‘O’ Level grades do not meet the requirements for the direct entry into Higher Nitec courses, can I use my N(A) Grades to apply for courses?
Yes, you can use your N(A) Grades as long as you meet the entry requirements.
