NOTES TO APPLICANTS

The Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship To Encourage Upgrading (LKY-STEP)

The LKY-STEP was instituted in 2001 from donations received from Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew through the sale proceeds of autographed editions of Volume 2 of his Memoirs. The objective of this Scholarship is to motivate ITE students to excel in their training and to encourage life-long learning.

Up to 10 LKY-STEP will be offered each year to outstanding ITE graduates pursuing full-time polytechnic courses in Singapore . Each scholarship comprises a one-off cash quantum of $3,500 plus waiver of polytechnic tuition fees for the duration of the diploma course.

 

Tay Eng Soon Scholarship (TESS)

The TES Scholarship Fund was established in 1993, from donations received from companies, individuals and staff of ITE, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, in memory of the late Dr Tay Eng Soon, former Chairman of ITE and Minister-in-charge of polytechnic and technical education (October 1981 to August 1993).

Each TES Scholarship comprises a one-off cash award of $3,000 and up to 10 scholarships will be offered each year.
