| First Comprehensive ITE College, ITE College East With its brightly-coloured campus sprawled across 10.7 hectares – about the size of 10 football fields – and its comprehensive facilities, ITE College East symbolised a “Breakthrough” transformation for ITE. The last of the 25 programmes in the ITE Breakthrough plan to be completed, ITE College East heralded a new era for Singapore’s technical education.
ITE College East was built at a cost of $240 million and completed well within its schedule of one-and-a-half-years in August 2004. Located along Simei Avenue, it opened its doors to students on 10 January 2005. ITE College East was honoured with the Best Buildable Design Award 2005 by the Building Construction Authority in March 2005. The Award, which recognised ITE College East for construction excellence through the use of buildable design, was conferred on its Architectural Consultant, RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Pte) Ltd. |
