About the Course
 

Conducted by ITE in collaboration with the prestigious French culinary school, Institut Paul Bocuse, the Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts is a new progression path for ITE graduates who possess Nitec or Higher Nitec in related fields. This prestigious institute offers a unique blend of refined tradition, contemporary quality and cutting-edge innovation in the culinary world.


The Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts course comprises 2.5 years of institutional training including a 9-month internship to gain relevant industry experience. The course content is customised based on local context to allow for diverse subject mastery and hands-on practice.

The certification will be issued by Institut Paul Bocuse and will be similar to the one given out in France. ITE and Institut Paul Bocuse will also issue a joint transcript to all graduates, reflecting the grades attained in the course. Graduates of the Diploma course will also have an opportunity to study for a Dual Degree in
International Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Lyon Business and Management School & Institut Paul Bocuse.

ITE College West  @ Choa Chu Kang which provides a fertile training ground and learning environment with fully-equipped state-of-the-art culinary set-up that is ideal for comprehensive hands-on training.

 

Entry Requirements

The course is open to Singapore Citizens with the following ITE qualifications:
 

Course

  Grade Point Average (GPA)

Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations

     GPA 3.0 and above

Nitec in Asian Culinary Arts

Nitec in Food & Beverage Operations

Nitec in Pastry & Baking

Nitec in Western Culinary Arts


Shortlisted applicants are required to attend an interview and pass a pre-admission medical examination.

Note: Only final year graduating students from Nitec in Western Culinary Arts, Nitec in Food & Beverage Operations, Nitec in Pastry and Baking Nitec in Asian Culinary Arts are exempted from the medical examination requirement.

 

Application
 

Admission is based on merit for the 20 places offered and short-listed applicants will need to attend an interview. The tuition fees will be similar to that for local Polytechnic full-time Diploma courses.

Application for Apr 2013 intake is from Wed 28 Nov 12 to Wed 23 Jan 13

NS Deferment
 

National Service (NS) liable males who wish to pursue the full-time ITE Technical Diploma course in 2013 and were born in the year 1991 or earlier will have to check their eligibility for NS Deferment at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB). Only those who are eligible for NS deferment will be allowed to enroll in the course.
