Academic Awards

CERTIFICATE OF MERIT

Certificate of Merit (COM) is generally awarded to the top 5% of the graduates from a course. Graduates must have passed all Core, Specialisation and Life Skills modules at the first attempt within normal course duration and have achieved outstanding performance in their course of study, with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, at the point of graduation. 

DIPLOMA WITH MERIT

Diploma with Merit (DWM) is generally awarded to the top 5% of the graduates from a Technical Diploma course. Graduates must have passed all Core and Elective modules at the first attempt within normal course duration and have achieved outstanding performance in their course of study, with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, at the point of graduation.

COURSE MEDAL 

Course Medals are awarded to the outstanding COM holders in each course. The number of Course Medals awarded for each course is based on the number of graduates of the course, subject to a maximum of 3 medals.

Graduates will be awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze Course Medal based on their overall performance in their course of study, CCA achievements and other contributions.

TOP GRADUATE AWARDS 

Gold Course Medalists with outstanding performance and have contributed to the well-being of the campuses through active participation in campus and social activities will be eligible for the following awards:

• Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal;
• Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal;
• Sng Yew Chong Gold Medal.

Medal and cash prize of $600 are awarded to each recipient of the top graduate awards.

Gold Course Medalists, who have done well academically and actively involved in Co-Curricular Activities, particularly those who have made outstanding contributions to the community and demonstrated the spirit of Innovation and Enterprise, will be eligible for the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding All-round Achievement. Cash prize of $600 is awarded to the recipient of this award.
