Do you want to help others feel confident by improving the health of their “crowning glory”?

 

You will learn to identify and analyse hair and scalp conditions and provide hair &  scalp therapy and treatments. You will also play an important role in providing advice on hair care and nutrition.

 

Hair Services

 

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Handle daily operations in a hair salon/hair care centres.
  • Provide client consultation.
  • Provide customer service.
  • Provide shampoo and head massage.
  • Provide creative styling.
  • Produce haircut service.
  • Provide hair colouring service.
  • Perform analysis of hair and scalp conditions.
  • Provide hair and scalp therapy.
  • Provide advice on hair care and nutrition.
  • Promote hair and scalp treatment products.

 

Gain valuable first-hand experience

Entry Requirements

 

To apply for the Nitec in Hair Services (Hair & Scalp Therapy) course,  you need to have:

Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they do not suffer from colour-appreciation deficiency, attend an interview for admission and pass a medical examination.This course comprises full-time campus training and company-based training.

Nitec in Hair Services (Hair & Scalp Therapy)  graduates are employed by hair and scalp services establishments such as hair salons and hair care centres. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Hair Care Therapist, Hair Care Assistant, Hair & Scalp Care Assistat and Hair Care Consultant.


There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge through higher-level courses.
