Have you ever wondered how flowers can convey one's thoughts for any season? Have you ever thought of opening a floral shop or starting an online floral business?

Take up the Nitec in Floristry course and learn all about flowers and foliage. You will learn how to assist in floral shop operations, condition flowers and plants, package gift hampers and baskets, arrange flowers and set up floral art displays for events.

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects:

  • Grade 1-8


GCE ‘N’ level passes in English Language and 2 other subjects:

  • Grade A-D or Grade 1-5

Note: Shortlisted applicants will have to attend an interview and aptitude test.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Floristry graduates with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 may apply for progression to the following Work-Study Diploma courses at ITE:

Nitec in Floristry graduates with a GPA of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Career Opportunities

Nitec in Floristry graduates are employed by floristry retail outlets. They can also be employed by wholesale florist establishments as well as interior-scape and event organizing companies that provide floral decorations. Some of the job titles that may be held by graduates include Assistant Florist, Floral Assistant and Florist Technician.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
