Lifts and escalators are essential mobility installations of modern skyscrapers and buildings. Get equipped with the skills to keep our lifts and escalators safe and reliable for use!

Join this course and gain knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify defects and faults in lift and escalator installations, perform lift rescue operations, maintain and replace lift and escalator equipment.

Entry Requirements

 

Subject Grade
GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects 1 – 8
or
GCE ‘N’ level Passes in Mathematics and 2 other subjects A – D or 1 – 5

Note:

  • If liable for National Service, must be:
    • Below 17 years of age at the commencement of the course for those with qualifications below GCE 'N' level; or
    • Below 19 years of age as at 1 Jan of the commencement year of the course for those with GCE 'O' or GCE 'N' level; and
  • Must not be colour blind

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Lift & Escalator Technology graduates with a minimum GPA of 2.0 may apply for progression to the following Work-Study Diploma courses at ITE:

Nitec in Lift & Escalator Technology graduates with good results may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.

Nitec in Lift & Escalator Technology graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.
