Join this course and gain knowledge on basic healthcare and home care like feeding and making bed, providing personal grooming and hygiene services and moving elderly patients in a nursing home environment.

Apply your knowledge and gain real-life (on-the-job) training at nursing homes.

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Provide personal and grooming needs of clients.
  • Facilitate clients’ mobility.
  • Perform infection control measures.
  • Take observations of clients.
  • Perform client care procedures.
  • Assist clients with elimination needs.
  • Assist clients with nutritional needs.
  • Assist in emergency situations.




Entry Requirements

To apply for the ISC in Health Care (Home Care) course, you need to have:

Subject Grade
Completed GCE ‘N’ level -

Note: Applicants recommended by their employers will be admitted on a case-by-case basis. 


Duration and Venue

This is a one-year course and training is available at ITE Approved Training Centres.


Progression Opportunities

ISC in Health Care (Home Care) graduates with a good Grade Point Average (GPA) and GCE ‘N’ level may apply for progression to Nitec in Nursing course offered by ITE.


Career Prospects

Graduates from ISC in Health Care (Home Care) can look forward to employment opportunities in the industry as Healthcare Assistants.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. This challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
