Nitec in Technology Automotive Technology ⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾ Built Environment (Mechanical & Electrical Services) ^{(1) (2)} Built Environment (Vertical Transportation) ^{(1) (2)} Mechanical Technology ⁽¹⁾	Completed GCE ‘O’ Level; or Completed GCE ‘N’ Level; or Passed BEST Module 4 Mathematics (for those with work experience); or Accumulated at least 60 hours of structured On-the-Job Training under the Certified On-the-Job Training Centre (COJT) system. The OJT must be relevant to the course applied for; or Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking and Listening, and Level 4 in Reading and Numeracy.

You may apply for module exemption/credit transfer by submitting a request in STEP. To do so,

Login to the STEP Student Portal.
Under Raise Request, select Institute of Technical Education.
Under Course/Module requests, select Module exemption/credit transfer.
Select the module which you are applying for exemption and provide details of relevant certificate (eg. Nitec or NTC-2) and final transcript.

(2) Applicant applying for this course must be free from colour appreciation deficiency. A score of 100% from the Colour Blindness Test taken here is mandatory for course admission.
(3)Applicant must be free from colour appreciation deficiency and not have a criminal record.
(4) Applicant must pass an interview and medical check-up for admission.
(5) Applicant must attend an interview for admission.
(6) Applicant will be required to attend an interview and pass a drawing test for admission.

Completed primary education; or
Passed BEST Module 4 in English or Mathematics; or
Have minimum 1 year of relevant working experience; or
Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 in Reading and Listening; or
Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 4 in Numeracy.
