Local football legend, Fandi Ahmad, launched Singapore's largest 7-a-side football tournament at ITE College Central.
Overview
ITE College Central’s PE Department is organising a World Cup-inspired football tournament featuring 48 student teams, each representing a country participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Sponsored by Lion City Sailors Football Academy, the tournament is set to be recognised by the Singapore Book of Records as the largest 7-a-side football tournament in Singapore.
This is the first time ITE College Central has organised a tournament of this scale and format in conjunction with the World Cup. The initiative promotes holistic student development through sport, while aligning with the spirit of the World Cup.
Tournament Format
48 teams, representing nations competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup
7-a-side format (10 players per team)
10-minute matches
Matches will be held every Friday, starting from the opening ceremony on 8 May, leading up to the prize presentation on 29 May

Student Development Opportunities
Football Tournament & Community Service in Malaysia (18 students)
Selected students will represent ITE College Central in a football tournament in Malaysia, alongside community service activities.
Overseas Football Club Visit (3 students)
Exemplary students will be selected for an overseas visit to a football club in Europe or Asia.
