ITE Launches New Facility and Expands Partnerships to Boost Logistics Talent Development
2 February 2026
New and enhanced training facilities will equip ITE students with skills supporting the digital transformation of the logistics sector.
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) has launched a new purpose-built training facility to prepare students for the evolving demands of the logistics industry. Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, officiated the launch of the facility at ITE College East today.
Developed with industry support, the Logistics Technology Hub exposes students to digital and automated solutions in modern logistics operations. Mirroring real-world operational environments, it is equipped with industry-grade technologies that align with the sector’s digital transformation. A digital twin command centre, integrated with Industry 4.0 technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and big data analytics, enables students to monitor and optimise simulated logistics operations in real time. The facility also features an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) — the first used for logistics training among Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore — paired with a collaborative robot, providing students with hands-on experience in warehouse automation workflows.
Annually, it will support the training of about 600 students from ITE’s Higher Nitec in Supply Chain Management and 150 trainees from the Work-Study Diploma in Integrated Supply Chain Management.

Enhancing Logistics Training Facilities
In addition to the Hub, a refrigerated container has been set up at ITE College East, giving students practical exposure to cold chain logistics involving the storage and transportation of temperature-sensitive goods, such as food and medications.
This follows enhancements made to ITE’s existing Logistics Training Centre, which now simulates a smart warehouse environment. The Centre features technologies such as autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), drones, vertical storage systems, Goods-to-Person (GTP) solutions, and visual safety analytics.
Mr Peter Lam, Chief Executive Officer of ITE, said, “With the shift towards digitalisation and automation, Singapore’s logistics sector is changing rapidly. Roles and demands have also evolved. By integrating the latest industry technologies into our training facilities, we are equipping our students with practical competencies to thrive in modern logistics operations and make meaningful contributions to the sector’s transformation.”
Deepening Industry Collaboration
At the launch of the Logistics Technology Hub, ITE also signed new three-year Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Bok Seng Logistics Pte Ltd, CK Shipping (S) Pte Ltd, and Sin Chew Woodpaq Pte Ltd, and renewed its collaboration with Cargo Community Network Pte Ltd for three years.
These partnerships aim to strengthen skills and professional development in the logistics sector, while providing ITE students with valuable industry exposure. Key areas of collaboration include the development of training modules for ITE’s logistics curriculum, internships for students, and training programmes for adult learners.
