1.  It is with immense joy that I stand before you today for this significant occasion: the signing of the MoU between ITE and ST Engineering, and the opening of the state-of-the-art Onboarding@SKILL training facility. This strategic partnership marks a pivotal advancement in our collective efforts to address the escalating demand for skilled technicians within the dynamic aerospace sector. It also underscores our commitment to cultivating a robust and sustainable pipeline of talent to fuel the continued growth of this vital industry. 

2.  The aviation sector is experiencing consistent expansion, consequently driving a substantial surge in the demand for aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services. Singapore has firmly established itself as a prominent hub for MRO services, offering a comprehensive suite of solutions for a diverse range of aircraft engine types. 

3.  ITE plays an important role in this ecosystem, offering several specialised aerospace-related courses. Every year, approximately 360 of our graduates are well-prepared to enter the industry. We are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that our curriculum and training methodologies remain at the forefront, adapting in tandem with the evolving advancements and skill requirements of the aviation landscape. 

4.  Our collaboration with ST Engineering stands as a cornerstone of our efforts. Since 2008, ST Engineering has been an invaluable partner, providing crucial support for ITE's student internship programme. This commitment has translated into up to 120 enhanced internship placements annually, offering our students indispensable on-the-job training within authentic operational environments. 

5.  Beyond internships, ST Engineering has actively participated in our aerospace Work-Study Diploma (WSDip) programmes. Over the past three years, ST Engineering has recruited over 130 WSDip trainees, demonstrating their dedication to long-term talent development and providing ITE graduates with meaningful and fulfilling career pathways. 

6.  These consistent intake figures underscore the strength and enduring nature of our partnership. ST Engineering's unwavering dedication to nurturing future-ready aerospace professionals is evident in their continued support.  

7.  The new Onboarding@SKILL facility represents a significant leap forward in practical training. It distinguishes itself by providing a realistic aircraft engine MRO environment, equipped with cutting-edge technologies that are transforming aircraft engine MRO processes. Within this advanced facility, our students will engage with intelligent autonomous mobile robots, augmented reality systems, robotic arms, and virtual engine test cell simulators. This hands-on experience, working directly on aircraft engines, will allow them to acquire invaluable skills within a dynamic and technologically advanced setting. 

8.  We extend our sincere gratitude to ST Engineering for their generous sharing of expertise in aircraft engine maintenance and for their close collaboration in the development of this exceptional training facility. We also deeply appreciate their ongoing commitment to our graduates, providing crucial support for their future employment opportunities. 

9.  Looking ahead, we are excited about deepening our partnership with ST Engineering. We envision increased opportunities for our students and staff to collaborate directly with ST Engineering professionals on real-world projects. 

10.  Through the robust partnership between ITE and ST Engineering, we are confident in our ability to cultivate a highly skilled workforce, thereby further cementing Singapore's position as a leading global aerospace MRO hub. 

11.  In conclusion, it is a distinct honour to have ST Engineering as our key industry partner. The partnership signifies a transformative step in addressing the industry’s critical need for skilled professionals, strengthening the vital link between industry and education, and creating sustainable and rewarding long-term career pathways for our students. We eagerly anticipate the positive and far-reaching impact this collaboration will have on our students, the aerospace industry, and the broader economy.
