Shaping Singapore’s Green Economy with Advanced Battery Storage Technology
10 October 2025
Green Tenaga, ITE, and Narada Asia Pacific launched the TenagaVault, a 10-foot all-in-one Battery Energy Storage System by Green Tenaga, at ITE College East — marking progress in Singapore’s clean energy and green workforce development.
Green Tenaga Pte Ltd (Green Tenaga), the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and Narada Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Narada Asia Pacific) have officially unveiled the TenagaVault, a 10-foot all-in-one Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developed by Green Tenaga, at the co-hosted event, “Sustainable Energy Solutions: The Role of Battery Storage in a Green Economy,” held at ITE College East today. This milestone marked a step forward in Singapore’s clean energy journey and workforce development efforts.
Developed over the course of 12 months of dedicated research, TenagaVault incorporates some of the most stringent fire-safety standards and advanced design features, setting a new benchmark for safe and resilient energy storage solutions.
Partnership for Impact
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Green Tenaga, ITE and Narada Asia Pacific to co-develop specialised training programmes in energy storage and the provision of training systems. As part of this collaboration, Green Tenaga and Narada Asia Pacific will provide ITE with the TenagaVault BESS, giving students direct access to industry-grade technology.
This industry-academia collaboration emphasises the essential role it plays in strengthening Singapore’s transition toward a sustainable future. The initiative will equip students from the Technical Engineer Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Clean Energy) and Higher Nitec in Electrical Engineering courses with practical skills in BESS operations, troubleshooting, system monitoring, and preventive maintenance, cultivating a future-ready workforce to support the nation’s clean energy ambitions.
Ms Low Khah Gek, CEO of ITE, underscored the significance of this collaboration:
“We are pleased to partner Green Tenaga and Narada Asia Pacific, both industry leaders in energy storage solutions, to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to the clean energy sector. This collaboration also accentuates our shared commitment to building up a talent pipeline for the sector and advancing Singapore’s national sustainability goals.”
Advancing Energy Storage for Singapore
TenagaVault is more than just a showcase of engineering excellence; it will also serve as a practical base for education, research, and innovation.
Mr Philip Lee, Vice President of Green Tenaga, said:
“Battery energy storage is more than just technology. It represents robustness, flexibility, and safety, while also creating the talent pipeline that is essential for Singapore’s energy transition. By working closely with educational institutions and local technology partners, we are ensuring that the next generation of engineers and technicians gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to support a resilient and sustainable green economy.”
As Singapore advances towards its net-zero goals, Green Tenaga, with its unique ecosystem of technology partners, continues to invest in both technology and talent.
In a move that reinforces its commitment to both technology and talent, Green Tenaga has partnered with ITE to co-develop a specialised Continuing Education and Training (CET) course: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technology, Applications and Safety Practices. Launching in November 2025 and eligible for SkillsFuture credits, the course will cover battery technologies, safety standards, installation, troubleshooting, and real-world applications, equipping the next generation of engineers and technicians with critical skills to power Singapore’s clean energy future. Course participants who have successfully completed the course will attain a Certificate of Competency (CoC) in Battery Energy Storage Systems under MySkillsFuture.
