CoC in Aviation Sustainability

Course duration: 16 hours

On completion of the course, participants should be able to determine various sustainability initiatives adopted by airports, airlines and air traffic management. The course is suited for participants who are working in the airport to have a general understanding of sustainability initiatives around their workplace, and for participants who have an interest in understanding aviation sustainability initiatives in Singapore.

Airport sustainability

• Understand aviation sustainability and its importance

• Define Net Zero and International Air Transport Association (IATA) strategies to achieve it.

• Explain the challenges and opportunities of sustainable aviation.

• Describe airport sustainability efforts.

• Stay updated with Singapore’s approach in managing a sustainable airport.

Airline sustainability

• Explain the impetus of airline sustainability efforts.

• Describe Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

• Explain the advantages and challenges of SAF.

• Stay updated with Singapore’s approach in managing a sustainable airline.

Air Traffic Management (ATM) sustainability

• Define ATM and its 3 main services.

• Stay updated with Singapore’s approach in managing a sustainable ATM.

Entry requirements

The course is designed for learners who have limited or no prior knowledge in the subject area.  Participants should however be proficient in English.
