At the end of this course, participants should be equipped with essential videography skills and technical knowledge to set up a functional environment and produce high-quality live streams for online platforms.
Course duration: 8 hours
Participants will be able to:
1. Basic Video Techniques: Develop a strong understanding of key video concepts such as framing, aperture, shutter speed, and white balance, and apply these techniques to create visually appealing live streams.
2. Execute Effective Camera Movements: Learn various camera movements, including panning, tilting, zooming, and tracking, to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
3. Design and Set Up a Mini Studio: Gain hands-on experience designing and setting up a mini studio, utilising essential studio equipment to create a professional live streaming environment.
4. Stream Live to Online Platform: Acquire the technical skills to stream live content directly to online platform (e.g. YouTube), leveraging the platform's powerful tools and features.
5. Utilise a Switcher for Seamless Production: Learn how to use a video switcher to combine multiple video sources, add transitions, and create dynamic and engaging live streams.
By mastering these skills, participants will be well-prepared to produce professional-quality live streams for various purposes, including corporate events, webinars, educational content, and personal branding.

Module 2: Essential Camera Techniques
ISO: Adjusting sensor sensitivity
Aperture (Iris): Controlling depth of field
Shutter Speed (F/T): Managing motion blur
White Balance: Achieving accurate colour temperature
Shot Size: Framing the subject (wide shot, medium shot, close-up)
Module 3: Camera Movement and Composition
Panning: Smooth horizontal movement
Tilting: Smooth vertical movement
Zooming: Magnifying or reducing the image
Tracking: Following a moving subject
Composition Techniques: Leading lines, symmetry, and the golden ratio
Module 4: Video Switching and Control
ATEM Control (Switcher): Basic functions, transitions, and effects
Camera Control: Adjusting camera settings remotely
Tripod Control: Positioning and moving cameras
Module 5: Live Streaming to Online Platform (e.g. YouTube)
YouTube Studio: Setting up a YouTube channel for live streaming
Live Streaming Setup: Switcher setup for streaming
Entry requirements
It is recommended for participants to have basic IT literacy.
