This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills in basic maintenance of building fire protection system.
Course duration: 9 hours
The scope of work includes the following:
Inspection of hose reel system and riser system (dry and wet)
Inspection of automated sprinkler system
Inspection of portable types of fire extinguishers
What you'll learn
Competency 1: Inspect hose reel system and riser system (dry and wet)
Perform inspection of hose reel system, dry and wet riser systems in accordance with SS 575:2012 and verification of the hydrostatic, pressure, flow and air release valve test of the dry and wet riser system.
Competency 2: Inspect automated sprinkler system
Demonstrate the visual inspections of the sprinkler system to be carried out in accordance with relevant Code of Practice CP52 and the sprinkler pumps are tested for correct operation and comply with manufacturers’ specifications.
Competency 3: Inspect portable types of fire extinguishers
Inspection of the fire extinguishers for compliance with operational specifications and the condition of fire extinguisher installations in a building has been verified in accordance with SS 578:2012
Entry requirements
Participants need to be fluent in written and spoken English.
