The Work-Study Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing prepares you for a engineering career in the Manufacturing Industry.
The course equips trainees with the skills, knowledge, and professional attributes necessary to support manufacturing operations. It focuses on designing and producing components using CAD and advanced technologies, while integrating quality assurance, lean principles, and sustainability to optimise process efficiency.
Learners will be able to produce precise CAD models and prototypes, leveraging advanced additive manufacturing techniques to ensure designs are optimized for efficient production. They will gain a solid foundation in transforming conceptual designs into tangible components, setting the stage for innovation in manufacturing.
Learners will demonstrate their proficiency in a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining. By generating machine-specific CAM codes and operating state-of-the-art automation systems and IoT-enabled devices, they will streamline production workflows and boost operational efficiency.
Learners will adopt robust quality assurance practices and lean methodologies while integrating sustainable manufacturing principles. They will transform theoretical knowledge into practical outcomes by managing production schedules, executing comprehensive company projects, and coordinating project plans to deliver tangible value in real-world industrial settings.
Prerequisite
Able to work different people in various levels in the organisation from different background in a team environment
Able to articulate and discuss ideas, thoughts and information effectively to achieve common outcomes
Able to understand and co-relate information from multiple disciplines to synthesise knowledge and insights, as well as guide decisions
Able to work long hours and with tight deadlines in production environment
Job role
An Assistant Manufacturing Engineer is one who supports manufacturing operations by designing and producing components using CAD and advanced technologies. He/She optimizes production processes, manages automation and robotic systems. He/She implements quality assurance and drives lean and sustainability initiatives, while managing production plans to meet production requirements.
Work-study training pattern
Hybrid Release - Alternating between blocks of daily classroom lessons and one to two days of weekly lessons at ITE, with the remaining work-week spent at the workplace for On-the-Job Training.

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;
Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
Higher Nitec:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
OR
In-service employees+ with:
Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
Minimum 18 years old with at least 2 years of full-time relevant work experience
Strong employer endorsement
+In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview
