Work-Study Diploma in AI & Data Intelligence (Data Engineering)

Course duration: 30 months

This Work-Study Diploma course aims to equip graduates with the skills, knowledge and professional attributes to deploy, integrate and support AI capabilities and data technologies, to drive business benefits through digital strategies. Trainees will acquire skills and knowledge under the chosen specialisation as follows:

Data Engineering Specialisation

Develop, implement and maintain data flow channels and data processing systems, to derive insights for business needs.

Prerequisite

• Work well with others in a team environment

• Able to use computational models, tools and techniques to develop different solutions, solve problems and guide decision-making

• Able to articulate and discuss ideas, thoughts and information effectively to achieve common outcomes

Job role

A Data Engineer develops, implements and maintains data flow channels and data processing systems, to derive insights for business needs. The work he/she performs includes the following:

• Manage datasets

• Manage database systems

• Manage end-to-end data pipelines

• Develop data solutions

Work-study training pattern

Block Release - Alternating between blocks of daily classroom lessons at ITE and periods of On-the-Job Training at the workplace.

Entry requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

   • Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:

     • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

   • Higher Nitec

     • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

OR

2. In-service employees⁺ with:

   • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above

   • Relevant work experience

   • Strong employer endorsement

⁺In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview
