Work-Study Diploma in Airport Operations

Course duration: 30 months

This diploma course prepares you for a professional career in the Air Transport sector. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to provide airport ground-handling services, which include managing operations, implementing Standard Operating Procedures, operating different equipment/vehicles, and deploying technological tools to address customers and stakeholders’ needs.

Job role

An Airport Ground Handling Officer is one who provides airport ground handling services in baggage, ramp, technical ramp, airfreight and cargo operations, in-flight catering and aircraft interior cleaning. He/she manages operations, implement standard operating procedures, operates different equipment/vehicles, and deploys technological tools to address customers and stakeholders’ needs.

Work-study training pattern

Block Release - Alternating between blocks of daily classroom lessons at ITE and periods of On-the-Job Training at the workplace.

Entry requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

   • Nitec with GPA ≥ 2

     • All Courses

   • Higher Nitec:

     • All Courses

OR

2. In-service employees⁺ with:

   • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above

   • Minimum 18 years old with at least 2 years of full-time relevant work experience

   • Strong employer endorsement

⁺In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview

3. Physically fit and Free from acrophobia
